Neuroscience Research
Cracking the mysterious brain codes
Our research focuses on understanding the anatomical and functional organization of the olfactory and related systems in both health and neurological disorders due to neurodegeneration including Alzheimer's Disease and Parkinson's Disease, traumatic or neurotoxic injuries. We address fundamental questions to bridge laboratory discoveries with the diagnosis and treatment of related human neurological diseases by leveraging cutting-edge technologies such as optogenetics, chemogenetics, in vivo and in vitro electrophysiology, in vivo calcium imaging with fiber photometry or miniscope, behavioral approaches, and neuroanatomy with advanced cellular imaging. Our scientific endeavor has been continuously supported by multiple research grants from NIH, one of the most prestigious federal funding agencies for biomedical research.
