Dr. Liu is the Principal Investigator and an associate professor at UGA, who leads one of the distinguished labs that make up the Isakson Center for Neurological Disease Research. His team is on a mission to uncover organizational and functional principles of the olfactory and limbic systems, and how they relate to neurological disorders caused by neurodegeneration including Alzheimer's Disease or injuries due to brain trauma or neurotoxicity. With the support of the National Institutes of Health (NIH), the research of his team is breaking new ground using cutting-edge techniques like neuronal and anatomical tracing, electrophysiology, optogenetics, and behavioral approaches. Join us in celebrating the Liu Lab's trailblazing work!
